This past Monday, January 16, the girls varsity bowling team suffered an unfortunate loss to Grand Rapids Christian. With the first half of the match not looking the greatest for the Rangers, the second half showed to be promising.

“I think it went great,” said junior Letizia Cumbo-Nacheli, “everyone bowled extremely well in the 2nd individual games.”

While it is heartbreaking to see another loss added to the ladies’ record, this loss is not because of a lack of effort. The Rangers gave it all they had, sometimes it comes down to which team has the least amount of hiccups. If FHC had extracted a couple of errors the ladies may have won against Grand Rapids Christian.

The ladies’ next competition is today against Lowell at Eastbrook Lanes at 3:30. The Rangers are looking to bounce back in a huge way this afternoon, not only to prove something to the community but to themselves as well.

“We’ve been practicing a lot,” quoted Letizia Cumbo-Nacheli, “we are confident and ready for this game.”

Practicing a lot is one thing, but believing in themselves is another. This team has shown that they are confident in their ability to perform at a higher level. This team has shown that they are willing to put in the work and that they share a strong passion for the sport of bowling. The ladies are about halfway through the regular season, and the competition is only going to get better from here on out. The ladies need to be ready and prepared for whatever their competition has to bring.

“We are beginning to practice on different oil patterns prior to matches, this will help us by giving the team a competitive edge over our competition,” stated Letizia Cumbo-Nacheli. “We are also staying very positive and making sure to have fun.”

Fans should be excited to see how the ladies progress in the second half of their season, and it all begins today with the opportunity to take down a cross-town rival in the Lowell Red Arrows. The Rangers don’t like them, and they don’t like FHC, which will make it even sweeter when the Lady Rangers defeat them.
