Even with the recent losses and a short delay, the boys varsity swim and dive team is staying positive through all it has faced to pull off a big win over the Huskies.

On Tuesday, the boys faced off against Forest Hills Northern. They ended up showing out and placing first with a total score of 100 points.

Coach Dennis Neat is ready to continue to help the boys improve and get ready for the rest of the season one meet at a time.

“We’re continuing to work hard every day in practice,” coach Neat said. “Practice habits carry over to meets and give us a chance to show how we’re improving as a team.”

Throughout the season, the boys try to make everyone feel welcome, especially the freshman.  New team member, Nolan Brekon, loves the team environment and how accepted he feels day in and day out.

“Everyone is happy, they are all communicative. It’s a great community,” Nolan said. “Being there, doing the work, getting it done, and being ready for the next meet is my favorite part.”

The atmosphere and the bond have been highlights of the season so far. Sophomore Dylan Pomeroy went into greater detail about what the boys have done throughout the season and how their bond has grown.

“It’s fun being friends with everyone and bringing it all together at meets,” Dylan said. “With the practices in the morning and afternoon, being on the team with my friends is really fun.”

With the season kicking into full gear, the boys’ next is Saturday, January 22, at the Battle Creek . Make sure to make it out to see the boys swim laps around Lakeview- Battle Creek at 12:00 PM.
