Girls varsity softball hopes to turn around the end of their season

On Wednesday, May 11, the girls varsity softball team played in another double header against Greenville high school. Though the girls have been doing better in their games, especially last weekend in their games against Mona Shores, the Lady Rangers fell short 5-7.

Though it was not the outcome the team had hoped, there were some effective plays and hits. There was a grand total of nine hits from the team, four RBIs, and one base on balls, where all four pitches are thrown out of the strike zone, and none of which are swung at by the batter.

Freshman Priya Mahabir is proud of the team as the girls did a great job, regardless of the outcome. She recognizes that at each game and every practice.

“We all work really hard, both on and off the field. Whether that be team bonding, after-work practice, and many other things to make sure we are the tightest-knit team we possibly can be. We all take this team seriously and love it a lot, so through wins and losses we are close enough to help each other grow,” Priya stated.

The girls’ next game is Monday, May 15, at 4:15 P.M. against Grand Rapids Christian high school. The girls want to finish off their season on a high note, and want a noticeable student section as their season winds down. Make sure to show up for the Lady Rangers.
