How long have you been playing basketball?

 “I’ve been playing basketball for three years now, but I used to play as a kid at the Y[MCA].”

What other sports do you play at FHC?

 “Along with playing basketball, I also run cross country in the fall, and I play tennis in the spring.”

What is your best memory from your time playing basketball, and why?

 “My best memory of playing basketball was finding out that I made the JV girls basketball team in my freshman year of high school!”

What are the strengths of this year’s team?

 “The strengths of this year’s team are how close we have become and how much we can hold each other accountable while still being a team.”

What are your individual goals for this season?

 “One of my individual goals is to improve my shooting skills and become a better teammate.”

Do you have any superstitions associated with your games?

 “Something I always do before my game is when I do my hair, I almost always, if not always, have a braid or braids in my hair.”

What is your favorite class this year and why?

 “My favorite class this year is Spanish 2 because I believe it benefits the world, especially in the job field, if people know more than one language.”

Who is the biggest influence in your athletic career and why?

“The biggest influence on my athletic career is probably my middle school basketball coach, Coach Udell, because of how much she influenced me to become more of a leader and to never give up.

Olivia Oorbeck is a senior on the FHC Sports Report. She is excited about entering her second and final year on the staff. This year, she received the title of editor-in-chief alongside Lily Ohlman. Olivia was a competitive swimmer for eleven years but is part of the ski and water polo teams here at FHC. Her favorite things to do in her free time are art, makeup, or reading.
