The boys swim and dive team gets ready to make a splash this season

With the return of winter sports, the boys swim and dive team is excited to make a splash into their new season.

The boys are ready to begin the season strong. They have been practicing for a while now, getting ready for the new season and a chance to compete.

Returning for his fourth year on the team, senior Benji Zorn has been anxiously waiting for the new season to begin.

“I am most looking forward to finishing out my four years of high school swimming on a high note,” Benji said. “I finished really well at the state meet and I’m looking to carry that momentum forward into a fantastic year–not to forget all the great people on the team.”

Due to the fact that COVID took away the normality of last year’s season, the boys have been waiting for the chance to show off their skills and to show the bond that they have created with one another.

“My favorite part of the team is the brotherhood that is formed between all the members of the team,” Benji said. “We all have each other‘s back through the easy practices and hard practices, early or late you can always count on the teammate lifting you up.”

The friendship and relationships the boys have with each other are what is going to make their season one of their best.

Returning junior Ben Rogala is excited to face off against Northern-Eastern, who also practices at the aquatic center; the boys have developed a rivalry about who “owns the pool”. The constant competition the boys have against each other will make a good meet.

As the season dives into action, the boys are beyond excited to showcase what they have been practicing beginning on Saturday, December 4, in Battle Creek.

“My favorite part about the team is the encouragement that we give each other to be the best we can,” Ben Rogala said.
