Boys JV golf loses in a competitive match to Byron Center 182-156

The boys JV golf team lost an incredibly close match to Byron Center on Monday. FHC finished with a score of 182, with every player shooting in the 40s. The problem came with the number one player from Byron firing off an astounding 34, solidifying a win for them.

Byron shot a 156 to FHC’s 182 behind some great performances all around by both squads.

Freshmen Cam Svoboda and J Coe both shot a 44, which were the two lowest rounds for FHC. Although Cam and J shot exceptional rounds, their efforts weren’t quite enough to get the Rangers over the hump of a crazy 34 from Byron’s top golfer.

Head coach William Alexander was super happy with how his players performed today, even though they lost. Coach Alexander thought that the whole team shooting in the 40s was awesome, and he thought that they couldn’t really control the outcome of the match. Once again, the underclassman stepped up for FHC and put them in a great spot to try and secure the win. Unfortunately for the boys, they didn’t have enough left in the tank to outlast a talented Byron team.

To wrap up the season, the Rangers will host the Forest Hills Northern Huskies on Wednesday, May 26. Ending off the season with a win against a rival school is just what they need to finish off a spectacular season.
