Kickstarting its week, the JV baseball team picked up where they left off last week and continued its early-season hot streak against the Lowell Red Arrows. Even though they have easily defeated each team they have played against this year, this single game versus Lowell was the closest game of the season for FHC. Up until the fifth inning, the Rangers only led 5-0. With that being said, they still managed to pull away, winning the game by a score of 8-2.

The freshman pitching duo of Carson Custer and JT Hartman continued to shine, as Carson started the game and was rewarded with the win. The other freshman pitcher, JT, finished off the rest of the night for the Rangers. JT dominated on both ends of the field, pitching and hitting his way to a special performance. On his way to going 3-3 at the plate, JT scored a run and hit a crucial RBI.

Sophmore superstars Chase Robinson and Justin Osterhouse continued their superior offensive play for the Rangers. Chase batted in three RBI’s, which gives him 10 on the season and an average of two a game. Adding onto Chase’s offensive brilliance, Justin made a big impact in the top of the third by popping one of the fences to give FHC a 5-0 lead.

The Rangers are now 5-0 on the year; they expect to already be in mid-season form. Due to a schedule change, FHC is now set to take on Lowell in a doubleheader on Thursday, April 22nd. Looking ahead, the boys are scheduled to play Caledonia in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 24th.
