Sport: Cross Country
How long have you been running?
“This is actually my first year doing cross country, and so far I’ve really enjoyed it. I feel like the community is amazing and everyone’s really supportive of one another, it’s not about whether you’re making the top times but if you’re putting in your full effort.”
What other sports do you play at FHC?
“In the past, I played soccer and have been playing since I was 6, playing on the Jv team my freshman and sophomore year, then varsity my junior year. This year, I’ve decided to switch it up and wanted to get more into running. I plan on doing track and field this coming spring.”
What is your best memory from your time playing?
“My best memory this season was definitely our first meet, known as ‘under the lights,’ which I thought was a cool experience to run in the dark and get all dressed up.”
What music do you listen to to get fired up for a meet?
“When I am getting myself ‘fired up’ for meets, I listen to more rap music, with artists like Kevin Gates and Tee Grizzley being some of my favorites.”
Do you have any superstitions associated with your meets?
“I don’t have any superstitions with my meets or other sports.”
Who is your favorite professional athlete?
“I’m not that big into sports myself and don’t necessarily ‘look up’ to a professional athlete, but my younger sister is definitely one I will always look up to when it comes to grit and dedication towards a sport. She is continuing her 3rd year at a hockey school, which I find in itself inspiring.”
What is your favorite class this year and why?
“This year, I would say my favorite class has been art because it is a very relaxing way to start my mornings, especially with being able to play music. Oftentimes, I’m able to finish some homework as well.”
