Freshman baseball opened up its season with a game against West Ottawa. The boys took the opposition by storm with hits coming from freshman stars Gibby Grendel, Henry Streeter, and Isaiah Wright. With the boys’ solid defense, they made no errors and shut down West Ottawa 13-3.

Game two brought along a rivalry against the Huskies of Forest Hills Northern. The boys were across the base paths with similar defensive play and hot bats. By minimizing errors, the solid plays gave the freshmen a win of 10-1.

The third game was part of a doubleheader, and the bats were scorching yet again. The game ended in a 13-3 Ranger win. The team now has three wins to further boost its confidence.

“To put it simply, we shut them down and lit them up with the bats,” freshman Seder Middaugh said.

The boys play their next game against Mattawan High School on Saturday, April 16, at 11:00 am.
