What is your favorite memory of gymnastics?

“When I competed in club gymnastics, I loved traveling to different meets. I especially enjoyed it when we competed in Disney at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and could visit the park while also competing.”

Who has influenced your gymnastics career the most? Why?

“One of my coaches in club gymnastics at Twistars, Brett Wargo, significantly influenced my gymnastics career. He pushed me forward to improve my skills while also helping me become a better overall person. My teammates also influence me heavily and have pushed me throughout my career.”

How has gymnastics impacted your life?

“Gymnastics has taught me many life skills that have improved my character, including how to work hard, have determination, and persevere through anything while displaying a heart of gratitude.”

Who is your inspiration for gymnastics?

“As a young kid, I always watched gymnastics in the Olympics. I specifically remember watching Jordyn Wieber (who went to the gym I was at) and Gabby Douglas on TV. From then on, I was determined to become a gymnast just like them.”

Do you have a quote that inspires you?

“A quote that has constantly pushed me forward throughout my gymnastics career is ‘hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.’ I may not always have the talent given at birth but I can work hard to get there.”
