Led by the bat of sophomore Justin Osterhouse, the JV baseball team came back down to earth for a few innings and didn’t light up the scoreboard like they usually do. However, a home run and two-hit performance from Justin hammered in the nail for FHC. At this point in the season, and now that he has hit three homers, Justin has shown he will be a valuable asset on the varsity team next year.

On the mound, freshman Mason McDonald and JT Hartman pitched an almost perfect day as a duo. Mason pitched the first three innings and picked up 8 strikeouts, while JT relieved him for the final four innings. In those final four innings, JT struck out seven batters with some nasty changeups and fastballs.

The Rangers are now 23-1 on the season and about to hit the season’s home stretch. The boys’ jam-packed week of baseball action kicks off when they face Byron Center for a three-game series that starts this Tuesday, and it wraps up when they travel to compete against a tough Cedar Springs squad on Friday in a doubleheader.
