Girls JV tennis wins 6-3 against Catholic Central in an out-of-conference match

Last Friday, the girls JV tennis team matched up with a shorthanded Catholic Central squad. Catholic Central only had seven players available, so the match ended up being fairly quick. FHC took advantage and was able to win with very little doubt.
Juniors Bella Wiseley and Liza McCarthy dominated and won 8-2, followed by fellow junior Lani Quach and sophomore Noelle Stewart winning by the same score.
“Our season has been great so far. We have players who have been playing tennis for years and others who just picked up a racket. Everyone’s progressed quickly, and with a focus on their net play, they are becoming more comfortable with traditional doubles play,” head coach Humzah Azeem said. “The way things have been working makes it clear that each athlete has a foundation to pursue the sport in any capacity.”
As the week progresses, the Rangers will match up against Byron Center at Byron on Monday, May 10th, FHN at home on Tuesday, May 11th, and Hudsonville on May 12th to finish their season.
