JV baseball cruises past East Grand Rapids in a lopsided doubleheader

A rivalry game kicked off a new week for the almost perfect JV baseball squad; the Rangers faced off in a doubleheader against the East Grand Rapids Pioneers this past Monday. In both contests, FHC came out victorious, winning 18-1. As a result, the Rangers now extend their win streak to ten games and boast an overall record of 17-1.

Freshman pitching star Carson Custer threw once again, and he stood out on the mound for four strong innings. In the four innings that he pitched in, Carson only gave up one run while striking out nine batters.

Offensively, the freshman duo of JT Hartman and Mason Mcdonald provided FHC with plenty of runs and had a solid outing. These two combined for five hits, including a triple. However, JT and Mason’s performances were one-upped by the sophomore duo of Justin Osterhouse and Sammy Mielock who combined for five hits and six RBIs.

The boys will move on to play a single game versus EGR on Wednesday, May 5, and another single against Hudsonville the following Friday.
