Coming off of an assertive 14-6 victory against the Lowell Red Arrows this past Thursday, the freshman baseball team had a good five days to rest up for a doubleheader clash against the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles Tuesday. FHC dominated every facet of the game in both contests, winning the first game 5-2 and the second game 10-0.
The freshman boys showed outstanding skill in every facet of the game. Representing FHC on the mound, Roman Brummell and Jacob Harleton pitched really well and helped the team demolish the Eagles. Once again, Mathew Seurynck hit the ball at a high level, providing the Rangers with a reliable boost of offensive firepower. Alex Brown also showed off his batting skills and helped the team improve to 4-1.
“We hit and played defense well; nothing really went wrong,” Drew Fortino said. “Overall, everyone played great and cleaned up their mistakes that they really needed to clean up after last week’s game.”
The Rangers haven’t lost since their first game of the season and look to keep it that way for the rest of the season. With momentum on their side, the boys travel to play East Grand Rapids on Thursday, April 24th.
