What is your best memory from your time playing
“My best memory from playing Varsity tennis is when I became a state champion last year, winning in a thrilling tiebreaker.”
What are the strengths of this year’s team?
“This year, I think we have a solid lineup. We lost a lot of seniors last year, but we’re recovering with new kids stepping up to play. Doubles will be pretty solid and singles will be better.”
What are your individual goals for this season?
“Winning states back-to-back will be one of my definite goals. I also want to beat Northern whenever I have the chance to, whether in regionals, conferences, or at states.”
Who is the biggest influence in your athletic career and why?
“My biggest influence is definitely my dad. He’s the one who introduced me to the sport, and he’s the reason why I fell in love with it.”
Who is your favorite professional athlete?
“My favorite professional tennis athlete is definitely Roger Federer because of his elegant playing style and being the GOAT of the sport. Besides tennis, my favorite athlete is Son Heung-Min, mostly because of his humble and likable attitude.”
Do you have any superstitions associated with your games?
“Whenever I win a great point, I purposely serve with the same ball that won me that point for good luck. I also set my water or Gatorade on the bench with a towel covering it. Finally, I need to listen to my music going to the courts or else it won’t set the mood for the match.”
