Isaac Stephen Returns to Wrestling in his Sophomore Year.

Being a bit bigger than most would be for a multi-sport athlete, sophomore Isaac Stephen gets around better than you would believe. Having played football and rugby in his freshman year he was only a two-sport athlete. Stephen quit wrestling going into the winter of his freshman year and decided to only prepare himself for the rugby season by doing his training.

“Honestly, I just really miss the sport,” Stephan said about rejoining wrestling. “I know there have been friends of mine who have been joining wrestling. And I wanted to join back again to play with them.”

He was also urged by some of his friends to rejoin the program.

“Some people were telling me that I should join back, some main names being Alex Korf,  Nathaniel Hahn, and Michael Frazier,” Stephan said.

He also likes that wrestling keeps him in shape.

“I want to use this sport as well as a conditioning sport for my other sports such as rugby and football,” Stephan said. “I’d have to say a key thing I want to do this year is staying lean, and just make sure I practice hard and just better myself for this season and get some wins.”

Sophomore Cameron Taylor loves having Stephan on the team.

“Isaac Stephan is a great person to have on the team, he loves to hype everybody up and has a positive and good personality that everybody on varsity loves,” Taylor said.”He has a great attitude towards the sport. And he tries to be as humble as possible win or lose, he truly seems to just have a great attitude.”
