Shohei Ohtani and his Los Angeles Dodgers are moving on to the World Series to face the Toronto Blue Jays.
Many people believed in the Milwaukee Brewers to make the World Series and win it all. However, there was only one problem: they had to play the Dodgers. The Dodgers swept the Brewers 4-0. The Dodgers beat the one seed and pulled off the upset as the three seed. How did this happen?
Shohei Ohtani has been an absolute dog this season in the MLB. He has a .282 batting average, which is tied in the MLB for 25th. While that isn’t as impressive a feat, he also has 102 RBIs, which is third in the league. He even has a 1.014 OPS, which is second in the league!
Not only has he had these crazy stats for the season, but Shohei is the only player to both hit and pitch in the MLB after the new DH rule in the MLB. He is not only smashing a baseball but also throwing 100 mph heaters for a strike. He has been dominating the MLB and is about to make a dynasty with the L.A. Dodgers.
Shohei Ohtani also just had one of the greatest performances in sports history. Game 4 of the NLCS was on the way. The Dodgers were up 3-0 in the series. Shohei was on the mound and batting lead off. He started the 1st inning with three K’s, and then later in the bottom of 1st, he smoked a home run to help the Dodgers take the lead 1-0. He was on fire on the mound the entire night, and he was hot at the plate as well.
The Dodgers ended the game with a win of 5-1. Shohei had 10 strikeouts while pitching and went three for three in hitting. He had three home runs in three at-bats. He is the first player ever to go three for three with three home runs and then pitch ten K’s. No player will ever break this record or even get close to it. He will go down as the greatest two-way player in the history of the game.
This was the best baseball performance I have ever watched in my lifetime. The Dodgers and Shohei are now heading to the World Series to play the Blue Jays, and with this NLCS series ending game, I do not doubt that the Dodgers are going to become the 22nd team of all-time to sweep its opponent in the World Series. Shohei Ohtani is on fire, and I believe that this streak will continue for one of the greats of all time.
