“I don’t play any other sports at FHC.”
What is your best memory from your time playing?
“My favorite memory from the school tennis season was a match two years ago at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo when Willem [Knoester] and I played four doubles. We were down against Hudsonville and were trailing 4-6 and 3-5, but managed to come back and win the match through back-to-back tiebreaks.”
Who is the biggest influence in your athletic career and why?
“My dad is the biggest influence on me playing tennis because he introduced me to the sport and has paid for many private lessons, group classes, and tournaments to make me better.”
What music do you listen to to get fired up for games?
“Before each match, I like to listen to some Mac Miller to get me pumped up.”
Do you have any superstitions associated with your games?
“Some things I believe that help me to perform better are using the same ball to serve again after winning a point and having an FHC dampener on my racquets.”
Who is your favorite professional athlete?
“My favorite professional athlete is Roger Federer because I have seen him play since I was young, and his one-handed backhand is the best, in my opinion.”
What is your favorite class this year and why?
“My favorite class this year is AP Chemistry because Mr. Colegrove is a really fun teacher, and even though it is a two-hour class, it feels like it goes by very fast.”
