Coach Fredricks and her team of JV water polo swimmers started the new season with new players and new coaches. Their first was an away game against East Kentwood High School which the Rangers came in ready.
Coming into a new season, the team wanted to get a win and provide it with a sense of confidence moving forward into the season.
East Kentwood is a historically successful team and a win against the Falcons would show that the team is very good and should be taken very seriously as the season continues. The Rangers did just that and were elated to bring home the victory with a score of 12-2.
The next game was against the Eagles of Hudsonville High School, which took place on March 21 and was the team’s very first home game of the season. The team’s record went to 2-0 after this game as the Rangers beat the Eagles 6-4.
Finally, the team played against the Wildcats of Jenison High School, on March 23. Despite a valiant efforts of Jenison, the Rangers kept their undefeated record in tact with a 13-5 win.
Starting the season with fiery competitiveness is what drives a team to victory, and the unbeaten record will help them thrive. Many of the players on the team show great promise and if they continue to show their grit, they will be successful in the long run, even in the games that they lose.
The JV team plays again on March 28, which is another away game at Grandville High School.
