FHC girls varsity lacrosse secures a second win over Catholic Central
This previous Thursday, May 4, the Forest Hills Central Rangers girls varsity lacrosse team faced off against the Catholic Central Cougars for a second time this season. Although CC was given the home-field advantage this game, this would not stop the Rangers from taking home another win. The girls won 16-11, yet again taking down the Cougars.
After beating EGR a couple of days prior, the girls were confident going into this game after knowing they had beaten CC in a previous game and were capable of winning again.
Sophomore Coco Mehney speaks about the team’s performance saying, “We started off slow, but overall I would say we played well. Some highlights were Margaret English stopping almost every girl on defense, Delaney Smith beating her girl with a switch to her left from a goal, and Shannon Murphy scoring multiple goals.”
Although the team knew they had what it takes to once again take down Catholic Central, the girls knew the challenges they would face.
Junior Maggie Sneider speaks about these challenges saying, “We had already beaten Catholic Central, but we knew that they are a good team so our challenge was just beating them again.”
The team knew going into this game that with CC coming out with a strong performance, the only thing the team could do was come out even stronger without getting overly confident.
After beating Catholic Central for a second time, the girls are looking forward to what the team will do in the next upcoming game.
The team has one simple goal heading to the future as senior Margaret English says, “We are hoping to get another win.”
The FHC Ranger girls varsity lacrosse team will take on Spring Lake, on Monday, May 8, at Ranger Stadium, at 7 p.m. Good luck to the team as it looks to walk away with another win.
