The beginning of a dynasty defining track season is almost underway

After taking first place at the OK White Conference tournament, the boys track and field team is looking to continue the clear dominance it had last year. As it goes every year, heavy losses of seniors from the year prior are devastating for a team. However, key runners are still hopeful for a successful season.
“Our team took really big losses by losing the seniors from last year but I believe we’ll be able to turn it around with all the new people who joined,” senior Maxim Meadow stated.
To go along with the yearly loss of seniors, there are also the new sophomores and juniors to fill in the missing spots and help bring victory to the program. The success of the team is defined by the depth of the lineups that are filled in by these newcomers.
While the team won the conference tournament, it was just short of actually winning the conference. Therefore, there is room for improvement this season, regardless of how well the boys performed the year prior.
A true leader of the team will definitely be Ethan Krampe. This Spring he will carry on his dominance in his running shoes after an incredible cross-country season in the fall. Coming into his senior year, we should be experiencing the peak performance of his high school career, which will be quite the show for the fans. With a great leader comes true confidence in his team, and Ethan exemplifies that very well.
“I think we are going to be very successful this season,” Ethan explained. “We were really close to taking the conference title last year and I think we definitely got it this year.”
This goal isn’t out of reach at all; obviously losing the seniors they had last year like Sam Yeager will be a huge drawback for the team, however, this OK White track season is bound to be dominated by FHC, starting on Tuesday, April 11, at Northview High School.
