The girls bowling team, unfortunately, added another loss to its record. After a great second-half performance to try to push through to the end, the Rangers are unable to put the Byron Center Bulldogs away.

“I was very pleased with the girls on Monday,” said head coach Jerry Tarabeck. “They got down early in the match but never gave up and came within three pins of getting a win against the number two team in the conference. They are continually improving their consistency which leads to better scoring and being more competitive.”

This was one of, if not the best performances the ladies have put on display all season. Byron Center is a good team, a team that is competing to be the best in the conference, and the Rangers only lost by three pins. The errors that the Rangers were making at the beginning of the season are starting to become a rare occurrence. While mistakes still occur, it is still an improvement. The Rangers are definitely a second-half team, they always turn it on when they get down after the first half of the match. The one change the ladies need to make is starting off just as strong as they finish, staying consistent throughout the whole match. But how do they plan on doing this?

“We need to work on making spares,” said coach Tarabeck. “As well as being more consistent with getting the first ball in play. Drills for posting and sliding properly will go a long way to improve that performance.”

The Rangers’ next competition will be this Wednesday against Northview at Northfield Lanes at 3:30. This will be a very important match for the girls, if they win, it proves their hard work and dedication are paying off. After a match like the one fans just saw against Byron Center, the Rangers will be coming back with the victory.
