This Saturday, January 21, the girls bowling team finished sixth in the Zeeland East Invitational tournament. The ladies, unfortunately, lost in the semi-finals to the Northview Wildcats after putting up a strong performance.

“It went well,” said junior Letizia Cumbo-Nacheli. “We had an insane game in the first round of the tournament. Raegan, Paris, and I played really well, along with Luka and JJ.”

It is so exciting to see a team that has been putting in the work finally see a change in the outcome of its competition. The community knows how hard this team works and for the ladies to make it to the semi-finals in a huge tournament like this one is nothing short of amazing.

“We were all going crazy,” quoted Cumbo-Nacheli. “Even the spectators were getting into it, it was an awesome atmosphere to be in, and it was such a fun game to watch.”

This is just what the Rangers needed to give them a boost to finish this season off strong, all they have to do is keep building off of this performance. If they continue to play their game, fans are going to see a whole new team for this second half of the season.

The next opponent on the ladies’ schedule is Forest Hills Northern, a tough team but nothing the Rangers can’t handle. People should expect to see a lot of momentum from their past performance shine through on Monday against the Huskies.

“We are ready for Northern, we are so much more positive and have better team energy and I think we’re going to destroy the Huskies,” stated Letizia Cumbo-Nacheli.

The Rangers have some tough competition in their sights, but I truly believe that this team can achieve whatever they want. There is something special about this group, something that could change the way people look at the FHC girls bowling team. The Rangers are finally beginning to tap into their spark.
