Varsity water polo loses its final game of the regular season to Hudsonville

The last game of the regular season did not end in how the Forest Hills varsity water polo team wanted it to. Shutting the girls down, the Hudsonville Eagles would come out of this game victorious after dominating on the offensive end and winning the game 15-2.

Despite its previous successes, FHC’s efforts were simply not enough to stop Hudsonville’s commanding offensive attack. The ability for the Eagles to turn on their motor at will created an unstoppable, well-oiled machine throughout the entirety of the game.

In this contest, the lone goal scorers were juniors Ellie Clark and Caroline Bell. The team shot 2/16 on the night. In net, junior Jessica Plantamura split her save percentage, going 15/30 with a .500 save percentage.

In an attempt to put this game behind them, the Lady Rangers have the opportunity to construct an “on to the next” mentality in order to keep their morale and spirit at a high level. FHC’s chance to do so will present itself in the fashion of the brightest lights imaginable: the playoffs. The team’s constitution of talent and experience provides a perfect recipe for potential success in the high-stakes postseason.

Forest Hills is now 6-10 on the season and will open the playoff gauntlet up against East Kentwood on Thursday, May 13.
