Varsity water polo crushes West Ottawa 20-5

After narrowly defeating Grand Haven 10-8 this past Tuesday, the Forest Hills varsity water polo team would end its slow week with a matchup versus West Ottawa the following Thursday. Forest Hills lit it up offensively in this contest for a season-high 20 goals in a 20-5 win. Junior Caroline Bell delivered the game-changing performance with a team-high 6 goals, 1 assist, and 2 steals.
Juniors Sophia McGrath and Avery Verlinde continued to be efficient offensive sources; both girls finished with 3 goals each and a combined 3 assists. Sharing the wealth, seniors Kaitlyn Kilmer, Rachel Schenck, Megan Gray, and junior Kyra Wittig all left their mark in the stat book with 2 goals. The four girls combined for a total of 6 assists and 10 steals, with 7 of them coming from Rachel.
Forest Hills is now 6-9 on the season and will play one more game in the regular season. To close out the regular season, the girls will face Hudsonville on Tuesday, May 11.
