Just two days after beating East Grand Rapids 18-1 and 9-7, FHC’s own JV baseball team hosted the rival Pioneers for one more game in the three-game series. In this one, the Rangers took an early 2-1 lead and carried it all the way over until the end, winning the game 8-4.
On the mound, sophomore Sam Ardinger threw four solid innings while sophomore Peyton Price finished off the other three innings and took home the win as the pitcher. Freshman Carson Custer made his mark both offensively and defensively, making key plays that helped the Rangers put more weight on East’s shoulders.
The Rangers are now 18-1 on the season and will finish off the week with a single game at Hudsonville on Friday, May 7.
