Varsity water polo bounces back from a tough weekend and defeats Grand Haven

After dropping its previous four games, the varsity water polo team dove back into the water with a matchup versus Grand Haven. Forest Hills took an early lead; however, Grand Haven stayed right on top of FH until senior Rachel Schenck took over the game. She eclipsed 4 goals and 3 assists, leading the team to a 10-8 victory.
Junior goalie Jessica Plantamura played quite an outstanding game, going for 18 saves on 26 shots for a 69% save percentage; she also grabbed an assist and 2 steals. Schenck led the team with 6 steals on the night, followed by junior Sophia McGrath with 4 steals and 2 assists.
On the offensive side, juniors Kyra Wittig and Sofia Johnson both scored 2 goals, while senior Megan Gray and junior Avery Verlinde finished with 1.
Forest Hills is now 5-9 on the season and will play West Ottawa on Thursday, May 6th, to finish off the week.
