Round two of the district seeding games for Forest Hills kicked off this weekend, and the girls were slated to play in three games on Saturday. The first games saw FH winning both of its matches versus Mason and Grand Ledge. Later, the girls faced off against Holt/East Lansing, Rockford, and East Kentwood. Unfortunately for FH, they did not have a strong offensive weekend and dropped all three district seeding games by scores of 7-13, 4-13, and 2-5.
Defensively, junior goalie Jessica Plantamura had a stellar weekend by making 39 saves on 70 shots for a total save percentage of 56 percent. In the steal column, senior Rachel Schenck led the way with 16. Backing up Rachel, junior Sofia Johnson had 10. Schenck finished with three goals and two assists on the weekend, while Johnson managed to notch two goals and two assists.
Another notable goal scorer for FH this weekend was, once again, junior Caroline Bell. Caroline scored a team-high four goals with another team-high 0f four assists. Going under the radar, both senior Kaitlyn Kilmer and junior Avery Verlinde had quiet two-goal weekends.
Forest Hills is now 4-9 on the season and is set to host Grand Haven on Tuesday, May 4, at the Forest Hills Aquatic Center. Following that game, the girls are scheduled to close out the regular season on Thursday, May 6, against West Ottawa. The girls are primed to finish their regular season on a good note with the postseason on the horizon.
