Earlier this week, on Thursday, April 22, varsity water polo faced off against Grandville in a conference match-up that ended in a 15-2 loss. Forest Hills looked to bounce back with a crucial win over Zeeland West this past Saturday. Unfourtanly for Forest Hills, Zeeland’s offense played quite the stellar game. In the end, Zeeland West won the contest by a score of 14-5.
In net for Forest Hills, once again, was junior Jessica Plantamura. Looking to have a bounce-back game after the 15 goal performance by Grandville, Plantamura captured 11 saves on 25 shots tonight, ending with a .44 save percentage. The defense for Forest Hills has struggled at times lately, but Plantamura has always managed to remain around the 50% save percentage mark, deeming her as an extremely reliable goalie.
Offensively, both junior Sofia Johnson and senior Kaitlyn Kilmer led the way with two goals on the night for Forest Hills. Johnson also finished the night with two assists and one steal. Junior Kyra Wittig scored the only other goal on the night for Forest Hills.
Forest Hills is now 3-5 on the season and can hopefully bounce back this weekend in a match-up versus Portage Central on Saturday, April 24.
