The 3-3 Forest Hills United water polo team faced off against the Grandville Bulldogs in an inner conference matchup. Unfortunately for the Rangers, it didn’t take long for the Bulldogs to gain a big lead on Forest Hills. Supplementing its offensive firepower, Grandville’s defense clamped up Forest Hills and allowed only two goals on the night. The final score of the contest was 15-2 in favor of Grandville.
The lone goal scorers for Forest Hills were juniors Caroline Bell and Sophia McGrath. Of course, the goals wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for assists by juniors Avery Verlinde and Ella Fauson. In net, junior Jessica Plantamura made 10 saves on 25 shots, going for a .40% save percentage.
Forest Hills is now 3-4 on the season. However, the team has many chances to prove themselves and bounce back, including two games this week versus Zeeland West on Thursday, April 22nd, and a game Saturday, April 24th against Portage Central.
