The 60s were one of the greatest eras for the Celtics Dynasty. They won over 8 whole championships in a row. Not many other teams in sports history have won that many back-to-back. Not just that, they had one of the most inspirational players on their roster, Bill Russell. He was the first NBA player to be a player and a coach at the same time; not only that, but he was African American. Overall, in my opinion, the Celtics dominated the league for their time, but also changed history.
Another one of my favorite players from the ’60s and ’70s was John Havlicek. John brought great defense to the game and had excellent shooting. Even though he wasn’t very liked by most, I thought he brought massive potential to his team. Havlicek peaked when he was named captain of his team from ‘1969 to ‘1978.
Larry Bird was arguably one of the best and most successful players in the 80s and into the early 90s. He won the first two NBA All-Star 3 Point Contests. He had an extraordinary but effective shooting form. I believe he is one of the best Celtics Hall of Famers of all time. He could call a shot from the 3-point line and make it. He brought accuracy, championships, and leadership to the team.
The 2000s were an interesting time period for the Celtics. Although I think they came out okay, considering they didn’t have the best roster. Paul Pierce put the team together, though in 2008, when they came home with an impressive win against their rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers.
Recently, the Celtics have made a massive comeback when it comes to their stats. I think they might just have the potential to put the Lakers in the dust when it comes to rings. They have Jayson Tatum, who has been seen as a key role in the Celtics’ record. They have a great offense in general, like Derrick White, who showcased impressive threes last season and hopefully this upcoming season. They also have other great guards like Jaylen Brown, who averaged over 23 points every game.
I think the Celtics will just keep getting better and better. This has been proven from their prior seasons. The Celtics have great teamwork and the ability to work well even without their best players. The Celtics are also one of the richest dynasties in today’s value, with over 6 billion dollars to their name.
Overall, I think the Celtics have earned their name to be the most successful and dominant team in the League. Just look back, almost every decade they have come out mostly successful. They have won over 18 championships to date and have won over 10 MVP awards.
