The boys wrestling team traveled to Grand Haven High School this past weekend where 14 wrestlers competed in individual districts. Six Rangers were able to advance past this round, extending the postseason for these select few individuals.
Senior wrestlers Caden Jacobs, Mason Childers, Robby Frazer, Bryce Hysong, junior Will Richardson, and freshman Greyson Ripmaster all were able to advance themselves to Regionals. Caden and Mason both had an impressive day as the two went undefeated, earning themselves the number one seed for Regionals this upcoming weekend. Fellow seniors Robby and Bryce placed fourth on the day, putting them in the fourth seed for their separate weight classes. During an action-packed day, Robby faced teammate and fellow senior Cam Roth in the blood rounds to advance to Regionals. As the two have wrestled beside each other for six years, Cam chose to give his teammate the win during the match as he believed Robby had a better path to make it to the highly anticipated state tournament. The six wrestlers will move on to compete at Regionals on March 27.
These six wrestlers will compete at Grand Haven high school this upcoming Saturday at 9:30 am. The boys will be competing in the Regional round of their individual post season, and their goal will be to place in the top four wrestlers of their weight class to advance to the state tournament.
