Q+and+A+with+wrestler%2C+sophomore+Miles+Gray

Name: Miles

Grade: Sophomore

Sport: Wrestling

How long have you been wrestling?

“I just started this year because I have a couple of friends in wrestling, and I wanted something fun to do on top of school.”

What other sports do you play at FHC?

“I do not play any other sports.”

What is your best memory from your time playing?

“Sitting down after practice and coach Anderson talking to us all about wrestling and life. Also, carpooling with my friends from the school to tournaments.”

What are the strengths of this year’s team?

“We have a lot of seniors who have been wrestling for their whole lives. Also, the whole team, in general, is really well-conditioned, and everyone is always really pushing for the win in every match they play.”

What are your individual goals for this year’s season?

“I think a good goal is to survive really since this is my first year, and just to make it through the match well-conditioned, and finish the season off strong.”

Who is the biggest influence in your athletic career, and why?

“Definitely coach Anderson because of the way he can turn my day around with his talks after practice and pushing me hard throughout this season. I think these practices are what have helped keep me sane through this school year, and a lot of the things he says I think about on a daily basis. For example, just today, he quoted someone I forgot the name of who it was, but the quote was: ‘Train hard, fight easy.'”

Who is your favorite professional athlete, and why?

“I don’t watch many sports, but I do watch UFC and boxing, so if I had to pick, I would say Khabib Nurmagomedov because he is the goat when it comes to MMA because of his ability to control his opponent and is very fun to watch the fight.”

What is your favorite class this year and why?

“I would probably pick Geometry because I like Mr. Garb, and it’s easy.”
