Girls JV soccer has a great week of wins
The girls JV soccer team is halfway through the season and dominating on the field day by day. As we head into the final weeks of school, it is important that the team sticks together and brings in more wins to add to its record.
On April 14, the girls faced off against Hudsonville High School. On this beautiful sunny day, the energy levels were high and the girls played well. The game resulted in a 2-2 tie between the two teams. Hudsonville was a tough opponent in the beginning, but the tie to end the game was very important for creating a good record for the end.
On April 17, the team faced off against East Grand Rapids High School. A tough opponent for the team, the girls came out on top with a 4-1 lead to end the game. The teamwork shown by these girls is a key opponent to what is happening on the field.
Coach John Blodgett is proud of the girls and their efforts to win. “The effort and heart that the players have shown have been inspiring. We’ve had very few subs this season, so players have been logging a lot of minutes,” he shares. “Hudsonville is a solid team and we played them on a hot day. The players fought through those tough conditions and came away with a tie. On the flip side, it was freezing cold and snowing during our game against EGR, and the players stayed focused and earned a dominating 4-1 win.”
On April 19 the girls faced off against the Northview Wildcats. They absolutely dominated the game and ended with an 8-0 win. The crowd roared after every goal and the beautiful ending created cheers from everyone. It was an inspiring win for the girls that will create energy to bring to the next games.
The girls will be facing off against the Rockford Rams on April 22 at home. Be sure to come out and show up for the ladies. Go Rangers!
