After a tough loss to Lowell on Tuesday the Rangers were faced with one of their toughest opponents all year: the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles. In the first half, the team started off slow, giving the Eagles a goal in the first 5 minutes of the game due to miscommunications in the defense. Following the goal, the Rangers defense stepped up with the help of star freshman Andrew Schepel at center back. Unfortunately for them, the Eagles were able to score a last second goal, closing out the half, leading 1-0.

Early in the second half, the Eagles were able to find the back of the net again putting them up 2-0. The offense for FHC came later in the second half, as sophomore midfielder Noah Burr stepped up to take a dangerous free kick late in the game. It was delivered right to freshman goalie Lance Childers, who managed to get on the end of it and put the Rangers on the scoreboard.

Unfortunately, the boys would not have enough time to mount another attack and fell to 0-2 on the season and in their conference. The boys’ next game is at Ranger stadium on Tuesday, September 15 against the East Grand Rapids Pioneers at 5.
