Girls varsity bowling rolls into gear
Another girls bowling season is about to begin, and with what seems to be low expectations for the ladies this year, the girls have every chance to prove critics wrong.
Last season wasn’t the best display for the girls bowling team with their season record finishing at 1-12. However, the ladies are looking to make new changes to ensure they see a different result this winter season.
“We are focusing on improving the basic mechanics of the girls first and foremost,” said head coach Jerry Tarabek. “and of course having some fun which is always good, and doing so while maintaining a good focus.”
Along with a new season comes a new varsity head coach for both the boys and the girls teams. That coach is Jerry Tarabek, who has expressed his feelings about being very excited about the upcoming season. With a new coach comes new drills and practice that could give the ladies an edge over their competition this year. I believe we are at the beginning of a whole new era for the womens bowling team.
“I am looking forward to the bonds I will make and my future bowling career,” quoted junior Letizia Cumbo-Nacheli. “It’s my first ever time bowling so I’m excited to see the growth and improvement.”
We are seeing a couple of new faces on the bowling team this year, including freshman Raegan Price, sister of bowling captain Peyton Price who is hoping to make an impact for the boys team this year.
“I am looking forward to bringing a solid culture of competitiveness, respect, and sportsmanship,” coach Jerry Tarabek stated. “I am also helping these athletes get better and enjoy what they are doing with the sport and building a team concept for years to come.”
If I can say anything, things are looking up for the bowling teams this year.
