It was a night to remember for the volleyball seniors

Thursday night was another victory for the Ranger volleyball team. However, what made this victory so special was that it was the Ranger’s senior night, a celebration for the hardworking ladies that have been a member of this program since they were in middle school.

What makes the Ranger athletic teams so good is the tradition held in the programs. FHC creates star athletes from middle school all the way up to their senior year. Thursday’s match against Grand Rapids Christian was the perfect example of this. These seniors have worked hard, especially during their four years at Forest Hills Central High School.

The ladies have a strong senior class this year consisting of team captains Sarah Dunn and Averie Zaschak, along with Kate Hotaling, Ally Werkema, and Emma Castello. These ladies have put in a lot of hard work, all of them being members of last year’s regional finals team. These girls know what it takes to win, which is going to help them in this year’s playoff run.

The ladies have some tough games coming up. They have one regular season game left, against the FHN Huskies. This is a much-anticipated matchup, it will determine the conference champions. With a strong will and an extremely talented senior class leading the way for the Rangers into their final week of the regular season, the ladies are hoping to finish strong before the post-season begins.

If there is one thing that is common through every sport at FHC, it is tradition. The tradition of excellence, the tradition of hard work, and the tradition of victory. The ladies will continue the Ranger tradition by taking down the Huskies next Tuesday at home at six pm. The Huskie’s win streak ends now.
