Northview gets the best of JV baseball

The JV baseball team was swept for the first time of the season against the Northview Wildcats. The boys already had a rough doubleheader before with emotions getting the best of everyone, and this game was no different.

With players playing different positions than they are used to, the team did not click as well as it has in the other 18 wins. Northview started off with the first run in the first inning. The Wildcats would later add two in the second inning. To assist the Rangers was sophomore Chase Enbody with a home run over the left-field wall. With the score at 3-1, JV baseball still played with aggression.

An error would cause the fourth and final run for Northview to create a 4-1 score in the third inning. Not a single run would be scored again on either side and the boys took their fourth loss of the season and were swept in the process.

“The plan moving forward is to win our last few games,” sophomore Alex Brown said. “The team feels really down but we are ready to go and win against Byron.”

JV baseball looks to come back again in its final doubleheader against a strong Byron Center team. The game will take place at home at 4:15 pm on Monday, May 23.
