Cooper Flagg is changing the game on many great teams. In last year’s NBA Draft, he was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks and is leading the team as a great rookie. He’s a popular prospect on and off of the court. A trend that he is accustomed to, he has carved out a huge role on every team he has played for.
Starting at the high school level, the glory of Cooper began in Newport, Maine. He could often dominate his league and crush his opponents. He was frequently considered by many, and me, to be very competitive in many rivalries. His impressive performances proved to be beneficial after he brought home the state championship during his freshman year at Nokamis Regional High School. Resulting from his impressive freshman year, he decided to transfer to Monteverde Academy in Monteverde, Florida. You could wonder if he would have some stiff competition at a school dedicated to sports, but that would be wrong. Cooper would prove to be even more successful at his new school because he was such a strong and dominant player.
Cooper has changed the course of history for both of the high schools he attended. During that time, he made a significant impact on the scouts for college. Where might he go: MSU, Michigan, Duke, UConn? His decision to play for the great Duke Blue Devils, which already had a history of rising high in the ranks in the competition, was a perfect fit. When Cooper stepped foot onto his new home court, he brought the hype. He was very profound in his level, and he belonged. This might have been because of the great players, coaches, environment, or the new social life. He did not disappoint his new home, though. Cooper led Duke to advance to the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament. Exceeding all predictions, Cooper obviously earned multiple achievements to place himself in Duke’s history. Rather than stay at Duke, his accomplishments led him to the decision to go to the next level ahead of schedule.
We now know that Cooper will be playing alongside many great players on the Dallas Mavericks and around the NBA night in and night out. This will unlock what I think is great potential that Cooper will have in his upcoming professional career.
