Now that the 2024 NFL Season is halfway over, we can more accurately predict the rest of the Detroit Lions games. The Lions have a 7-1 record, the highest in the NFC, and the 2nd best in the league behind the undefeated Chiefs. The Lions look like the best team in the NFL and would be undefeated if it wasn’t for a few mistakes against the Buccaneers. Here are my predictions for the rest of the Lions games, and their record at the end of the regular season.
Week 10 – Houston Texans
Texans top wide receiver Nico Collins is expected to return this week after a hamstring injury, but their receiver room is still partially empty with Stefon Diggs out for the season with a torn ACL. The return of Nico Collins will improve their game after a loss to the Jets, but I see the Lions still coming out on top as the Lions look like they can beat anyone after the way they have been playing in recent weeks, so I think the score will be 27-14 improving the Lions record to 8-1.
Week 11 – Jacksonville Jaguars
I predict this matchup will be an easy one against the Jaguars who aren’t looking like a good team right now. This game will probably be similar to when we blew the Titans out the door with a score of 52-14. I’m predicting a final score of 35-10 and getting them a record of 9-1.
Week 12 – Indianapolis Colts
Along with week 11, this one also won’t be a very hard matchup I’m predicting, but probably a little closer than the game against the Jaguars. If they don’t start Anthony Richardson, they will probably put up a few more points. Final Score prediction: 31-17 and the Lions advance to a beautiful 10-1 record.
Week 13 – Chicago Bears
Thanksgiving football is the second-best day to watch football behind Christmas, so this will be a good game. These division rivals will face off at noon on Thanksgiving. The Bears are currently 4-4 after losing to the Cardinals, and Jayden Daniels’s Hail Mary in Washington last week. The Bears have had a mixed season, and it’s hard to tell if they can beat the Lions, but I don’t see it in Caleb Williams, who isn’t looking like an amazing rookie. The final score will be 21-10 with an 11-1 record.
Week 14 – Green Bay Packers
The rematch of this week’s win over the Packers may or may not end with a similar outcome. Luckily for the Lions, the weather will be clear inside Ford Field, or at least it should be. Even though the Packers should be used to Wisconsin’s weather, they still lost to the Lions when playing their first outdoor game of the season in rain and wind. The final score will result in the Lions winning again improving to a record of 12-1 and a final score of 28-17.
Week 15 – Buffalo Bills
This will be a good matchup as the Bills look like a very good team this year with many different offensive weapons. This looks like it’s going to be the hardest game left of the season, and the score will be very close. It’s hard to tell right now who looks better, but I predict we will lose a close fight with a score of 24-27 and a 12-2 record.
Week 16 – Chicago Bears
Another game facing off against the Bears, this time in the Windy City. Again, this team is hard to tell if they’re going to be good, or at least decent. I predict it will be a similar game with us on top with a score of 27-7 and a 13-2 record.
Week 17 – San Francisco 49ers
Our third playoff rematch this season after we fell to them in the NFC championship last year. The 49ers aren’t looking like a good team so far, and whether it’s injuries or other factors, we will see as Christian McCaffrey is expected to return in the Week 10 game against the Buccaneers. We have improved since last year, and it was a close game that we ultimately lost after leading before halftime. I predict the outcome will be different and we advance to an amazing 14-2 record with a final score of 35-24.
Week 18 – Minnesota Vikings
The regular season will end with a rematch of week 7’s game where Jake Bates ended Minnesota’s undefeated record of 5-0. It’s unclear if Minnesota is still in its prime after they lost to the Rams after losing to the Lions, but I think they are still pretty good. It will probably be a close game, but we will defeat them again with a score of 21-14, and our final record will be 15-2, and land as the 1st seed in the NFC playoffs, and we will ultimately see what will happen there, and if we will make it to our first Super Bowl in franchise history.
