The Rangers JV football team put on a show in a blowout win against Wyoming.
The Rangers could not be stopped throughout the game, and it started on the first drive. Quarterback Blake Teliczan dropped back and found Jackson Buff for a 40-yard touchdown, giving the Rangers the lead.
Wyoming had a good start with the ball driving down the field until the quarterback threw a jump ball to his receiver that Jackson Buff picked off.
After the turnover, FHC went on a dominant drive that a touchdown caught by Luka Nuo capped off to put the Rangers up 14. Again, Wyoming got the ball and threw yet another pick to Brody TenEyck, who turned it into 6. The point-after field goal was blocked, making the score 20-0. The Rangers got another stop and battled down the field until the 1-yard line. Quarterback Blake Teliczan ran the ball in for the score, putting the Rangers up 27-0.
Wyoming had yet another turnover, this time a scoop and score for the Rangers, putting them up 34-0. In the 4th, Wyoming got stopped on 4th down, resulting in a turnover over, and the Rangers got the ball in the red zone. Wyoming was able to hold the Rangers for an entire quarter until the 4th. Patrick Carpenter got the ball out of the backfield and scored, which made the score 40-0. The Rangers got yet another stop and scored yet again. Will Costello broke free and rushed for 47 yards. The final score was 46-0.
The Rangers put on a show, and everything went well, but the best of all was the passing.
“The best thing that I think went best was our passing game and just throwing up deep balls,” said Griffin Rodal.
The Rangers are going into their last game of the season against East Grand Rapids, and the team would love to end their season with a win; in order to do that, they need to give it their all.
“Play 100 percent,” said quarterback Blake Teliczan. “Because this could be the last time some of us will play with each other.”
