Last night, the varsity volleyball team took on the Byron Center Bulldogs in an OK White Conference showdown. The two teams had played each other before a few weeks prior, and the Bulldogs had walked away with that win in four sets. Despite the Rangers fight last night, the Bulldogs walked away with yet another victory in four sets, 3-1.

The first set commenced with the Bulldogs taking off, and by the end of the first set the Rangers had fallen 25-18. However, as the second set began, the Rangers fired back at the Bulldogs, dominating much of the set. They were able to make a comeback, and tie the game up winning the set with a score of 25-21. With the game tied 1-1 in sets, the teams were on even playing fields once again, but the Bulldogs dominated the third set against the Rangers and won 25-13. Headed into the fourth, and what would be the final set, the Rangers needed a win to keep the game going. Both teams battled down to the very end pushing the game into extra points; however, the Bulldogs came out on top with a score of 26-24.

Despite the loss, there were many players who represented last night and displayed amazing performances. Senior Tatum Otolski led the team in kills last night with twelve, and also had eleven blocks. Another senior, Julia Bouma, had a phenomenal defensive performance last night with 12 digs and 28 serve receives, creating chaos for the Bulldog offense. Lastly, senior Morghan Tilton, had a phenomenal night on the offensive side of the game securing 32 assists for the Rangers.

The Rangers will play again tomorrow night against the Wayland Wolves. The game will begin at 6:15 pm, on the Rangers home court. Tomorrow night is also senior night for five players on the Rangers roster.
