Boys freshman basketball gets lift from bench in blowout win against Hudsonville

With a 4-0 record, FHC had another unfamiliar game versus Hudsonville. Hudsonville has been a top program in the past decade winning many OK Red conference titles recently, so it shocked many people when the FHC freshman team throttled the Hudsonville Eagles. The Rangers ended up winning 60-8. One of the best performances in head coach Adam Monroe’s coaching career. There were a few key players like Ty Hudkins and Matthew Seurynck. Ty had 13 points and Matthew had 8 points. Ty was a defensive nightmare, as usual, and Matthew had a big day on the boards.

The start of this game was completely different than the Greenville game. They got off to a fast start, hitting shots, and creating turnovers. They also executed their sets very well, which led to some easy buckets. This was one of the only games that they played a complete 32-minute game while giving it their all the whole time. FHC dominated the boards like usual, and made it tough for the Eagles to run their sets. Defense was a huge emphasis in this game and it showed as the Rangers only gave up two points in the second half. The Rangers took care of business winning by 52 points.

FHC improves to 5-0 with a 4-0 conference record. They face the Bulldogs of Byron Center on Tuesday night, with this new OK White opponent being yet another unfamiliar foe for the Rangers which could make it tough to scout them.
