Boys JV basketball cruises past Lowell 53-29
The boys JV basketball team played Lowell for the second time this season and won 53-29. The Rangers defeated the Red Arrows with ease following Ty Hudkins’ 11 points and J Coe’s 9.
FHC stepped up early and took a commanding position in the first half. The Rangers came out hot and shot the ball very well from the outside. Guards Mason McDonald and Ty Hudkins did a great job handling the Red Arrows’ pressure and moving the ball up the court efficiently.
“The team did a good job moving the ball around and finding open shots. Our bigs did a good job controlling the paint and making layups,” Hudkins said. “It was a really good game to prepare us for a tough week coming up with East Grand Rapids and Forest Hills Northern.”
The Rangers currently sit in first place in the OK White conference standings with an 11-1 record. The boys have six games remaining in the season and two of them will be against the Northview Wildcats.
“We have rivalry week coming up against East Grand Rapids and Forest Hills Northern and we are hoping to come out with wins against each group again,” head coach Ike Tilden said.
The boys are hoping to end the season on a positive note following a remarkable season thus far. In order to do so, they are looking to improve their shooting statistics and turnover rates.
“We definitely have a lot to work on in order to accomplish our goals like win the conference,” Coe said. “But I think we are prepared to do just that.”
