Girls JV golf beats EGR with lowest JV score on record
The season slowly dwindles down for the girls JV golf team as they continue to prove its talent is worthy of competition. The Lady Rangers have faced off against EGR in the past week, and the girls all pulled their weight.
Last Monday, the team faced off against EGR in a tight matchup at Indian Trails Golf Course. The ladies ended up winning with an impressive 175-185. This is the overall lowest JV girls golf score to date, which is a remarkable achievement at this point in the season.
Returning sophomore Josie Crosse is exceptionally proud of how the girls have done this season.
“Overall, I think we have played very well this season,” Josie said. “I was super excited to beat the JV record last week, and it’s awesome to see how my teammates and I have grown.”
As a shining player this season, she has had a lot of time on the course and getting to know the team and has really enjoyed the experience.
“I have loved it,” Josie said. “Everyone on the team is so nice and supportive. I always have fun and practice, and it’s been great to get to know the new girls in the team.”
Josie also opened up about her favorite match so far.
“My favorite match has probably been the FHC vs. Northern match because it was super fun to see my friends on the other team.”
As the season slowly winds down, the players and coach reflect on their outstanding season and can’t wait to finish off strong. The girl’s next match is Wednesday, September 29, against Byron Center in a heated matchup.
With all that has been accomplished this season, head coach Chris Sobieck, in particular, has been blown away by the teamwork the girls have displayed.
“The girls on the team are all like each other, and there is good team chemistry.”
