On Monday night, the girls JV tennis team beat Byron Center by a score of 5-4. This was a huge win for the girls heading into the last two matches of the season.

Junior Lani Quach and junior Liza McCarthy won by a score of 7-6 and 6-3 in their two matches. Next, freshman Sloane Corey and Ayla Thompson won 8-6 in a tight battle with close scoring all the way through. Finally, freshman Lillian Krug and Mary Holtgreive won comfortably by a score of 8-5.

With another major win and scoring spree, FHC is able to finish off the season on almost the highest note possible, winning its last five games in a row.

“If we can pull out two more wins these next two games, that would be awesome for the team and what we have been able to do this year,” freshman Lydia Gurley said.

To finish up the season, the Rangers will be home against Northern on Tuesday, May 11, and at Hudsonville on Wednesday, May 12.
