When it comes to the 2023-24 NFL season, many players had been injured and it wasn’t just minor players of teams, but key players. Many fantasy football players had been disappointed by these injuries and downright put down. The season required a lot of improvisation when it came to fantasy teams, however, it was great to watch a lot of backup players and players who had originally been behind a top-tier player. But what about those top-tier players who are returning for this year? How will they perform?
Nick Chubb
Coming into the season as one of the best running backs in the league and said by some that he was number one. He had shown to be one of the best players in the league and put at number 29 in the 2023 NFL Top 100. Unfortunately, Nick Chubb received a severe injury during his game where he tore ligaments in his left leg after being hit by Pittsburgh Steelers Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. He had just gone for 1,525 rushing yards in the 2022-23 season and was incredibly unfortunate to see such a promising and exciting player out so soon. But due to this, people have seemed to forget about him and signed him off their lists. To my knowledge, I haven’t seen many people talk about him or how he will perform in fantasy. I believe that Nick Chubb will show that he is the best power runner in the league when he comes back this year, and has a good offensive line in front of him, He has tons of potential and I’m expecting another Pro Bowl season from this man. Although he had not been mentioned much for fantasy football or in general, people have noticed his Instagram stories where he posted Batman pictures.
Kirk Cousins
Big Kirko Chains is back this season after suffering an Achilles tear in week eight of the NFL season versus the Green Bay Packers. Being out of the season so soon disappointed many fans of the NFL, as Kirk Cousins was performing at the rate at which he’d have a monumental season. Kirk Cousins hasn’t been written off by NFL fans like Chubb has recently been, and having been signed by the Atlanta Falcons for a contract that when finished, will mean Kirk Cousins has earned more money in his career than Tom Brady did. He will be a massive piece of this offense while having the chance to help develop Michael Penix Jr. The receivers in the offense had been missing a quarterback that they can dependably rely on, Kirk Cousins fills that role beautifully. It’ll be exciting to see how he performs and how many points he can rack up in fantasy football.
These two players are significant in their ways and I’m excited to see how they do in their teams. And I’ll try to get one of these players for my team.
