Over the history of the NFL, there have been hundreds of amazing wide receivers, but some just stand alone as the best of all time and the greatest to ever play the position. This is why it was extremely hard to come up with my top ten greatest wide receiver lists of all time, but in the end, I feel I have it perfectly.
Number 10: Don Hutson
Hutson was one of the all-time most prolific wide receivers at Green Bay Packers. He had nine all-NFL Selections. Along with that, over 11 seasons, he posted 488 career receptions with 7991 receiving yards for 99 touchdowns cementing his legacy as one of the best wide receivers of all time.
Number 9: Lance Alworth
Another small in stature but sneakily one of the best wideouts of all time was Lance Alworth from the Chargers. During his hall-of-fame career, he posted seven all-star selection games. And in eleven seasons he had 5452 receptions for 10,266 yards and 85 touchdowns
Number 8: Steve Largent
Coming in at number eight is a very shifty all-time great route runner for the Seattle Seahawks. Largent was an absolute freak of nature, mainly because if you looked at the small-statured wide receiver you wouldn’t think much of him. But during his hall-of-fame career, he had seven pro bowls. Also 819 receptions for 13,089 receiving yards and 100 touchdown catches, leading the way in multiple franchise records for the Seahawks.
Number 7: Marrivan Harrison
Number seven is an all-time great for the Indianapolis Colts. Marrivan Harrison was an absolute dynamic threat all over the field. He had six all-pro selections and eight pro bowls. In 13 seasons he had 1,102 receptions for 14,580 yards for 128 total touchdowns in a carrier that was also capped off by a Hall of Fame section.
Number 6: Larry Fitzgerald
Fitzgerlad is the best wide receiver to ever come out of Arizona and he will be forever. Fitzgerlad is an eleven-time Pro Bowl and a member of the NFL all-100 team too. While posting 17,492 yards and 121 touchdowns on 1,432 receptions leaving a legacy across the NFL forever.
Number 5: Andre Johnson
One of the most physical body wide receivers of all time Andre Johnson could run through you and hit you with the crispiest route of all time as well. A very versatile Hall of Fame wide receiver who is the best Texans wide receiver of all time. Johnson had seven pro bowls and seven 1,000-yard seasons! Also, he had 1,062 receptions for 14185 receiving yards for 70 touchdowns one of the biggest menaces of all time.
Number 4: Calvin Johnson
Calvin Johnson embodied what it was like to be the phrase “unguardable”, there were clips all over online showing teams tripling team the deep threat wide receiver that was lighting quick but also extremely tall. Calvin Johnson in his hall-of-fame career, was able to get six pro bowls in nine seasons. Also while racking up 731 receptions for 11,619 yards for 83 touchdowns. What is most impressive is he put up these high-caliber stats in nine seasons when most were only getting these stats in years 13 and 14. Johnson was a different breed when he played and will always be a legend.
Number 3: Terrel Owens
The San Fransisco 49ers have been a breeding ground for top-level wide receiver talent all time. Terrell Owens was a beast and had a very long illustrious hall-of-fame career. Capping it off with six pro bowls, 1.078 receptions for 15,934 yards, and 153 touchdowns in 15 seasons in the NFL.
Number 2: Randy Moss
Randy Moss was the ultimate deep threat the greatest deep threat of all time. Mr. Head Tapper himself, you through it up one-on-one coverage Randy Moss is coming down with it every time he was too big and had the stickiest hands ever. During his career as a Minnesota Vikings legend in his 14-season career, he had six Pro Bowl selections, 15,292 yards, and 156 touchdowns on only 982 receptions.
Number 1: Jerry Rice
The King and Goat of all wide receivers, Rice was the best of all time with no doubts he could do everything at the highest level and he was untouchable. We may never see a wide receiver of his caliber ever again quite frankly. During his 20-season hall-of-fame career with the 49ers. He had 13 Pro Bowl selections, 1549 receptions that went for 22,895 yards, and 208 touchdowns, and in 14 of those seasons, he was over 1,000 yards.
This concludes the top ten wide receivers of all time, as there are many amazing wide receivers yes these ten were the faces of the NFL and their team whenever they played and it will be hard to find careers that live up to these great wide receivers.
