What other sports do you play at FHC?
“I play varsity water polo. I have only been playing a short amount of time, but I have enjoyed every moment with my team!”
What is your best memory from your time on the team?
“My favorite memory is when freshman year, we were about to jump in for the first practice of the season, but suddenly, everyone started screaming because they found a dead mouse in the gutter of the pool. It was gross at the time, but we all laugh about it now.”
What music do you typically listen to before meets?
“I typically listen to a lot of Taylor Swift. I have an entire playlist of her songs that I play before each meet.”
Who is the biggest influence in your athletic career?
“The biggest influence in my athletic career is my parents. They have helped me through some tough spots during the season and have continued to support me. Even though neither of them swam, they always try their best to help me. ”
Who’s your favorite professional athlete?
“My favorite professional athlete is Missy Franklin. From 2012-2016, she was one of the best backstrokers out there. She has retired, but as a kid, I always looked up to her. In fourth grade, I wrote her a letter, not expecting her to write back; however, Missy wrote me back, and since then, she has always been my favorite. ”
What are your individual goals for the season?
“My goal this season is to make it to state for the 100 backstroke. I am about 2 seconds away from the qualifying time, so I have been working hard every day at practice to try and improve. ”
What is your favorite class this year and why?
“My favorite class this year is Choir. The people in the class are absolutely amazing, and I have met some of my best friends through Choir. Mr. Ivory makes it a very welcoming and fun environment that I encourage everyone to join!”
