How long have you been running cross country?
“I have been running cross country for six years, since sixth grade.”
What other sports do you play at FHC?
“I also run track and field. I run the 4×200, 4×400, 400, and I also long jump.”
What is your best memory from your time running cross country?
“The best memory was finding out we were going to states last season.”
What are the strengths of this year’s team?
“The girls side of the team this year is very powerful, and it’s also super deep. All the girls are very fast, and we’ve lowered each of our times, which allows us to move up in rankings. We also are all friends and work together, so there’s a natural bond with us.”
What are your individual goals for this season?
“An individual goal I have is to come back strong from my injury and break the 20-minute barrier.”
Who is the biggest influence in your athletic career and why?
“Probably my dad. He believes in me more than anyone, and he pushes me to be my best.”
Do you have any superstitions associated with your meets?
“No. But I always do the same warm-up at the line and move my fingers before the gun goes up.”
What is your favorite class this year and why?
“My favorite class this year is Yoga because I can hang out with my friends and stretch throughout the day, which is good when you’re in a sport.”
